Last weekend, I finally caved and bought the iPhone 5s. I can’t say it’s all that different than the 4s so far, other than that the battery life is significantly better (ok, that’s a biggie) and the fingerprint thing is cool, if glitchy and works only some of the time. Oh, and the camera seems to be better–which is important for me because, sadly, I’m a horrible photographer, so I need all the help I can get.
My daughter had created monogram wallpaper for her iPhone–complete with Lilly Pulitzer background and cute font–and I was determined to make my own. I am no graphic designer so wasn’t sure how to do it–so of course, I Googled it. And of course it turned out to be as simple as an app: Monogram. It takes some playing around with to get the fonts and the little medallion thing to look as cute as the examples, so I basically spent the rest of the day creating backgrounds, plus paid 99 cents for a font upgrade. Suffice it to say, I now have enough monogram iPhone wallpapers to choke a horse.
You could conceivably create a monogram iPhone case by printing the wallpaper from your phone then getting a clear case, but I already had that covered (lol–pun not intended) thanks to Etsy. Who knew you could get cute custom iPhone cases for under $20? Well, probably everyone except for me–I’d paid $40 or $60 for my 4s case.
Now they just need to make an iPad app!
