This past year, I’ve become an Instagram-a-holic. Which is unfortunate because I’m pretty much the worst photographer ever, but that’s the good thing about being a grown-up: you can do stuff just because it’s fun and don’t need to sweat stuff like Instagram likes. So, likes or not, I have a lot of Instagram photos. I also just started thinking about the holidays….stuff like holiday cards, gifts, decorations, etc. did I mention I’m a procrastinator?
At any rate, I figured I’d search for cards that can use some of my Instagram photos. Which turned into me finding a bunch of cool holiday things you can do/make with Instagram photos. Here are five of my favorites:
Cheergram. Connect Cheergram with your Instagram account and you can create holiday cards, wall clings or prints of your Instagram photos. The cards are good if you have one photo that sums up your year, like a family photo; not so much if you’re like me and have uncooperative teenagers and need to collage several pictures together to get everyone on the same card. I love the wall cling–a 2′ x 2′ collage of 16 photos printed on “re-positionable adhesive fabric.” Will have to try to take 16 print quality photos of Lil’ Delicious (my Persian cat) and try this.
Red Stamp. Red Stamp is the only way that I can do print holiday cards–it is a miracle worker for people like me (procrastinators with horrible handwriting for addressing cards who then are too absent-minded to actually mail them). It lets you create cards right from your iPhone with either Instagram photos, photos from your phone, Facebook and/or a combination of all those. There are tons of cute designs to choose from, with anywhere from one to at least four photo slots. Then, as if that weren’t good enough just on its own, it will even address and mail some or all of the cards for you, or address/mail some then send you the rest to do. Uploading your addresses could not be easier; you just go through your phone contacts and check the ones you want to have cards sent to. Pay and done. You can also do invitations, announcements and other types of cards. LOVE it.
PicPaperie. Are your Instagram photos so cute you wish you could wrap gifts in them? Well, thanks to PicPaperie, now you can. If I were more organized and had planned ahead, EVERY gift under my tree could be wrapped in Lil’ Delicious paper! Sigh…maybe next year.
Printstagram Tinybook. Printstagram is great for prints of your Instagram photos, calendars, posters and other cute products, but the cutest thing they have is the Tinybook. It is a tiny book (1.7″ x 1.5″) featuring 24 of your Instagram photos. SOOO tiny and cute and would make a perfect stocking stuffer. It’s also magnetic, so you could make one filled with your holiday photos to enjoy all year on your refrigerator or magnetic cabinet at work (can you tell I have one of Lil’ Delicious photos on both my refrigerator and my office?). SO cute and so tiny.
Instagram Ornament….or tree. This Instagram ornament from Zazzle is pretty cute (you insert your own printed Instagram photo) or this one that features a collage of four Instagram photos is another good one. you can just keep it simple and make your own “Instamas Tree” like this one.
Now all you have to do is take a bunch of cute holiday photos and post to Instagram, so next year you can feature on your holiday cards, ornaments and gift wrap! Happy holiday Instagramming!
