As my own daughter gets ready to head to college next year, I’ve sort of been wishing I could wind the clock back 17 years to start my baby journey all over again. It doesn’t help that several friends and coworkers have or are expecting babies–maybe one will let me borrow theirs for a weekend. (or maybe just a day 🙂 )
Everything about babies is chic-er now than it was back when I was pregnant. The maternity clothes, the baby stuff…it all just seems cuter now. It also makes me want to cry because I somehow managed to not save one single item of clothing or anything else from either kid….although I have no regrets about not saving any of my hideous mid-90’s maternity clothes.
One of my favorite friends, Jen Klair, has a luxury baby site, Jen Klair Kids, and just sent me her holiday gift guide. Even though I don’t have anything approximating a baby, I thought it was so cute I asked her to send me a digital copy so I could share it on Chic n’ Geek. It features personalized baby gifts like this embroidered cotton blanket, cute stuff I wish they had back in my babies’ day like the Sophie the giraffe teether, and even stuff that has nothing to do with babies but that I either already have and love like the Barefoot Dreams robe (my husband calls it “the parka”) or that I want like a monogrammed duvet cover and shams. While she has some super fancy and non-practial luxury baby items like this oppulent crib and lots of cashmere baby clothing and blankets, she also has some super cute, unique baby gifts under $25 like this super cute hand-crocheted bunny hat (ZOMG I need a baby so it can wear this!!), tiny hand knit winter booties, and even a hand-crocheted baby Santa hat. Also lots of cute baby shower gifts and favors.
Anyway, here’s her gift guide: JK_Catalog_2014 [PDF] –and there’s a 10% off promo code on the last page.
Now does anyone have a baby I can borrow over the Christmas break?!
